International Creole Month

October is International Creole Month. To celebrate, the Haitian Center of Evansville has worked with friends around the community to create a series of videos celebrating the Haitian Creole language.


"Kote kreyol la pase, ke louvri" - Where Kreyol shows up, hearts open


"Konbit" - communal work, working together towards a shared goal


"Pale Kreyol se viv kitirel" - To speak Kreyol is to live culture


"Piti piti zwazo fè nich" - Little by little, the bird builds its nest


"Sa ou fe se li ou we" - What you do is what you see


"Bondye pa janm anreta" - God is never late


"Inite fè fòs" - Unity makes strength


"Dlo a pa janm monte mòn" - Water never climbs a mountain


"Main anpil, chaj pa lou" - Many hands make the load light


"Renmen moun ki renmen ou" - Love the people who love you
